Mission

The F1 Family aims to give every Formula 1 Grand Prix, going back through the sport's history, a single page: results, qualifying, practice, incidents, and standings in one place, without digging through several sites to piece a weekend together. Driver, constructor, and circuit pages exist to give that same single-page treatment to the people and places behind the results.

Where the data comes from

Race results, qualifying, standings, and career statistics come fromJolpica, an open-source, community-maintained API that took over as the successor to the long-running Ergast API after Ergast was retired at the end of 2024. Jolpica is backwards-compatible with Ergast and covers every World Championship season from 1950 to the present.

Practice session data and race incidents/flags come fromOpenF1, a separate free API that publishes live and historical timing data. OpenF1's coverage starts around the 2023 season, so practice sessions and incident logs are only available for 2023 onward — earlier seasons have full race results, qualifying, and standings, but not this extra detail.

Circuit and constructor history, notable incidents, and trivia are compiled from public sources, primarily Wikipedia, and written specifically for this site rather than copied wholesale.

How often it's updated

The site is currently being backfilled with historical seasons and information on retired drivers, constructors, and teams. Once that catch-up work is complete, data is refreshed after each Grand Prix weekend during the current season — in practice, roughly every two weeks while the season is running.

Page views are measured with a self-hosted Umami instance on Meon Valley Web's own infrastructure. It's cookieless and doesn't collect personal data — see thePrivacy Policy for details.
